Supervisors to Discuss Planning Commissioner Removal

SHARE NOW

The Lassen Board of Supervisors is set to deliberate on the removal of one of its planning commissioners. According to this week’s agenda, the supervisors will engage in discussions concerning the removal of the unnamed member and will also provide guidance to staff regarding the procedures outlined in the county’s code for the removal of a member before their term limit expires.

As of now, no additional information has been disclosed regarding the rationale behind this recommended action.

Pursuant to the county code, it is stipulated that any member may be removed for sufficient cause, a determination to be reached by a four-fifths vote of the board of supervisors. Furthermore, the term of each planning commission member invariably concludes on March 31st following the election or appointment by the board of supervisors member representing the supervisorial district in which the planning commission member resides.

The board will convene to address this matter tomorrow, at 9 a.m. in their chambers located on Nevada Street in Susanville. The agenda for this session is available on the county’s website.
