State Seeks Public Input on Homelessness Action Plan

As homelessness continues to grow in California, with the state as of 2022 having a third of the nation’s homeless, and half of all unsheltered people, the state’s Interagency Council on Homelessness is aiming to gather input from you.

In a collaborative effort with over 60 community entities, public agencies, nonprofits, and experts, Cal ICH has developed an Action Plan for Preventing and Ending Homelessness. The plan includes a vision, key principles and practices, and five action areas that will guide the state’s efforts to address homelessness in California. The goal is to make homelessness rare, brief, and one-time.

Cal ICH recently released its second annual Action Plan Implementation Progress Report to discuss the progress made towards these goals. The report emphasizes the need to adjust or create new activities to capture the full extent of the state’s work to prevent and end homelessness.

Now the agency is seeking your thoughts on the plan’s priorities and areas of focus.

There will be an opportunity for you to participate and share your input May 3rd at 1 o’clock. You can register through the Cal ICH website.
