Sierra Army Depot has earned runner-up status in the Depot category of the Army Award for Maintenance Excellence (AAME)!
This is a fantastic achievement that reflects the incredible work ethic and dedication of all SIAD employees. The AAME program recognizes the best of the best in Army maintenance, and to be recognized as a top performer is a huge honor.
Established in 1982, the AAME evaluates units on everything from technical skill to leadership and overall maintenance effectiveness. Our team’s commitment to excellence shone through! This also means we’re in the running for a Department of Defense (DOD)-level award!
Key accomplishments include:
Strategic Reserve Management: Maintaining a critical Strategic Reserve of Class VII equipment and Class IX parts, directly improving materiel readiness for the total Army force and filling shortages in Army Prepositioned Stocks.
Rapid Global Response: Executing fourteen Presidential Drawdowns, swiftly delivering 1,208 essential assets (vehicles, artillery, etc.) worldwide.
Parts Fulfillment: Filling nearly 320,000 unit requisitions for critical Not Mission Capable, Supply (NMCS) parts, valued at $197.6M.
Foreign Military Sales Support: Shipping over $1.8 billion worth of equipment to international partners.
Armor Plate Reclamation: Successfully repairing and returning over 65,000 hard body armor plates to serviceable condition, enhancing Soldier protection.
These achievements highlight SIAD’s vital role in supporting global operations, contingency responses, and overall Army modernization.
