PG&E is rescheduling the closure of a portion of Forest Service Road 24N34 in the Bucks Lake/Grizzly Forebay area to perform maintenance at the Grizzly Powerhouse in Plumas County. The hard closure will now occur from Friday, Oct. 9 at 9 a.m. until Sunday, Oct. 11 at 5 p.m.

The closure had been scheduled for Oct. 6-8 but has been delayed due to power generation needed due to this week’s heat wave.

The hard closure is to a portion of Forest Service Road 24N34 from approximately 3.5 miles west of the intersection of Bucklin Road and 24N34 and from 200-feet East of the intersection of 24N36 and 24N34.

Grizzly Forebay will be accessible from Oro-Quincy Highway via 24N36 to24N34.   The South side of Lower Bucks Lake will be accessible via 24N34 from Bucklin Road. Access to the North side of Lower Bucks Lake and Three Lake Road will not be impacted.

The closure is necessary for public and worker safety as PG&E measures water levels in a surge chamber for a water tunnel alongside the road, which is only one-vehicle wide and the space is needed for PG&E equipment and vehicles.
