The Susanville Police Department confirms that there was an accidental discharge of a firearm early Sunday morning, around midnight, at Diamond Mountain Casino.
The incident occurred following an evening in which the casino/hotel hosted a PureCombat High Desert Brawl Event, to which a physical altercation later ensued among some individuals. During the scuffle, a firearm was inadvertently dropped and discharged, resulting in a shot being fired into the parking lot. This discharge was not intentional, and there were no reported injuries as a result of the incident.
Authorities have confirmed that the individual of interest involved was promptly located and arrested. Additionally, officers successfully recovered two firearms in connection with the situation.
