A man was shot multiple times in his Millview apartment.
Yesterday, around 4:40, officers with Susanville police received the report, and upon arrival, they found a 31-year unidentified man with gunshots; officers immediately began providing medical assistance with help from Ssuanvilel Fire. The extent of his injuries warranted care flight to transport him to Reno for immediate care, his condition remains unknown.
The suspect had fled the scene in his vehicle, yet the getaway vehicle’s description was spotted after someone listening to a scanner heard the information broadcasted to all law enforcement. This information led officers to a home on Gail Way.
With immediate assistance from the Lassen County Sheriff’s Office and California Highway Patrol, a perimeter was set up around the home on the 1100 block of Gail Way. Law enforcement knew the house was associated with the vehicle owner.
By about 9 p.m., the occupants were ordered out of the home, and the suspect, William Michael Trujillo, was taken into custody.
Police officials say a search of the home revealed a cache of firearms hidden inside.
Trujillo sits in county jail, facing charges of attempted murder, possessing firearms and ammunition, and stolen property as a felon.
If you or anyone you know has information on the shooting, you are asked to contact Detective Warner or Officer Monahan at the Susanville Police Department, as authorities emphasize that the investigation is still in its initial phases.
