The pilot senior meal Dine Around Town program in Susanville, now going on day three, is off to a successful launch. Health and Social Services director Barbara Longo says nearly 60 seniors have registered to participate in the program.
The dine-around-town program is a nutrition service of the PSA 2 Area Agency on Aging in partnership with Lassen County Health and human services and Lumberjack’s Restaurant. The program gives seniors 16 vouchers for one month to get a dietician-approved healthy meal for free at Lumberjacks.
HSS Director Longo says the potential for the program to reach farther out into the county is being considered as the program develops.
