Lassen County and Dignity Health are expanding the senior lunch program to serve more local seniors. The program currently supports about 99 seniors who come together for meals and social time.
Seniors in Susanville can get five meals each week. Hot meals are available at noon on Mondays and Wednesdays at the Susanville Community Center. Seniors also receive three frozen meals and milk. The meal site moved from Jensen Hall on the Lassen County Fairgrounds due to contract changes.
In Westwood, Dignity Health delivers meals from a truck at 12:30 p.m. Thursdays behind Dollar General on Birch Street.
Meals are also offered at Jolly Elders in Janesville from noon to 12:30 p.m. Thursdays and through 50+ in Bieber. Plans are underway to bring the program to Doyle and Herlong.
Volunteers are welcome to help with the program.
