A pavement project will bring delays if headed out of Alturas onto 299. Caltrans District 2 and contractors will begin work on the Cedar Pass West Chip Project today to place an asphalt rubber chip seal on 299.

You can expect one-way traffic control with up to 10-minute delays, Monday through Friday, during daytime hours. This project is planned to be completed by mid-August.

If heading into the valley, you can also plan for blasting operations in the feather river canyon. Crews will be blasting on Highway 70 near Cresta in Butte County, just north of Oroville, from 8 am to 11 am. You may expect temporary highway closures and up to a 3-hour delay to allow the contractor to clear debris & ensure the roadway is safe for travel. Blasting will occur throughout this week.

Plan ahead and find alternative routes to avoid delays.
