The Almanor Foundation reports Chester’s Recharge Our Community’s Economy team recently gathered for its quarterly meeting. Community members, Plumas County staff and partners at Rural Community Assistance Corporation discussed updates on the three projects currently being shepherded through this collaborative effort:
- Chester Town Center: creating a vibrant, year-round hub that supports local businesses, events and community connections
- Event coordinating initiative: building a centralized system to execute and promote local happenings, strengthen tourism and help the community shine
- Car rental and ride share project: expanding transportation options for residents, visitors, seniors and Pacific Crest Trail hikers to improve mobility across the Lake Almanor Basin
Organizers say these projects are powered by local voices, local leadership and a shared commitment to strengthening the Chester–Lake Almanor Basin.
