Pacific Gas and Electric Company (PG&E) has provided more information on the closure of the rural dirt road, China Grade Rd. They have initiated a project to install approximately five miles of underground power lines, running from Taylorsville to Mount Hough. This work, which began this week, is expected to last about a month.
The closure affects a part of the road with no residences, as it is used primarily for access to Mount Hough. An alternate route remains open via Quincy, allowing continued access to the area.
The new underground power lines are intended to support radio communication towers in the region. PG&E’s project was made possible through collaboration with Plumas County and the Plumas National Forest, underscoring efforts to enhance infrastructure and connectivity within the county.
