There will be improved summer reading for Quincy library-goers. The Quincy branch of the Plumas County Library has announced the doors will be closing as summer rolls around, yet it is due to much-anticipated renovations.

The library will receive new carpets, updated flooring in public bathrooms, and ADA-compliant doors at the Jackson Street entrance. To accommodate these upgrades, the library will be closed from Wednesday, May 15 to Saturday, June 1, with a reopening scheduled for Monday, June 3.

Library officials state that you may have some issues contacting the library during the renovation period, as the library’s phone and internet services may be disrupted. If you need assistance, you are encouraged to contact the Chester branch by phone at 530-258-2742 or email [email protected].

All scheduled literacy programs, including story time, computer classes, and literacy tutoring at the Quincy Library, will be paused during the closure and will resume in the week following the reopening.

The community is invited to visit the library post-renovations to experience the new enhancements firsthand.
