Plumas County Graduates Join California Highway Patrol in Santa Rosa

Two Plumas County men, Jaden Lee Bok and Travier Ross, have completed their cadet training at the California Highway Patrol (CHP) Academy and have been assigned to the Santa Rosa area office. Jaden Lee Bok, a 2021 graduate of Portola High School, previously worked as an assistant golf professional at Plumas Pines in Graeagle. Travier Ross, a 2009 graduate of Quincy High School, earned an Associate of Science Degree in health and exercise from Feather River College before attending the academy.

The CHP Academy provides comprehensive training that includes modules on nobility in policing, leadership, professionalism, ethics, and cultural diversity. Cadets are also trained in mental illness response, crisis intervention, patrol operations, crash investigation, first aid, and managing suspected violators, particularly those driving under the influence. Additional training covers traffic control, report writing, recovery of stolen vehicles, public assistance, citation issuance, emergency scene management, and understanding various legal codes.
