Friday was a great day for the Modoc High School MCORPS Class. For the last two week we have been learning all about our justice system. After two weeks of preparation, they concluded with a Mock Jury trial in which our students played the roles of both prosecutors, defense attorneys, witnesses, and jurors. Both sides presented their case in front of Modoc Superior Court Judge Randall L. Harr. Modoc Sheriff Department wants to thank the following people and organizations for making this possible: the Modoc County District Attorney Nina Salarno, Deputy District Attorney Courtney Hagge, Deputy District Attorney Richard Cotta, Public Defender Stephen King, Public Defender Jessica Keeney, Modoc Superior Court Judge Randall L. Harr, Modoc County Sheriff’s Office Deputy Chris Harrison, Bailiff Dalton Staggs, and Animal Control/Code Enforcement Officer Brooke Lemonds.
We are very proud of our MCORPS Students for all their hard work and preparation to make this a successful event.
