Modoc County District Attorney Nina Salarno joined victims’ families, prosecutors, law enforcement leaders, and public safety advocates on October 1 at an event hosted by the Peace Officers Research Association of California and the Criminal Justice Legal Foundation.
The gathering took place at the California Firefighters Memorial. Salarno spoke against new regulations that allow certain individuals, including some serving life without parole, to seek sentence reductions.
She stood with families affected by violent crime. Salarno highlighted the need to protect victims’ rights and keep their voices central in California’s criminal justice system.
Representing Modoc County, Salarno expressed pride in joining public safety leaders and victims’ families across the state in addressing an issue with deep consequences for those who have lost loved ones.
