Modoc Feline Humane Society was busy last week humanely trapping fifteen community cats and bringing them to Modoc Veterinary Center to be fixed and vaccinated. Our volunteers do this every month and we are seeing positive results in bringing the outdoor cat population under control. It is important to note that the cats must be returned to the place where they were trapped. If cats are re-homed to a barn home or elsewhere, they need to be confined for a couple of weeks. This is a necessary step for them to acclimate to their new home and so they stay put and don’t run away. Generous supporters have offered $6,000 in matching funds for any donations we receive from now through Giving Tuesday on December 2nd. We still have to raise $4,798 to meet our fundraising goal.
