Mill Creek Man Driving a Truck Equipped with Water Tank Killed in Collision Near Park Fire

An 83-year-old Mill Creek Man died after colliding with a tree on Saturday, August 10th, around 2:30 pm.

Susanville CHP says the unidentified man was driving his Green Ford F-350 equipped with a utility bed and water tank east on SR36, just east of Wilson Lake Rd. when for unknown reasons the truck drifted off the right edge of the highway. The truck went down the embankment ultimately colliding with a tree.

The Mill Creek man succumbed to his injuries at the scene. CHP says the man was not wearing his seatbelt.

The Tehema County Coroner is handling the incident.

The fatal collision occurred within the vicinity of the Park Fire where firefighters are aggressively battling the blaze as it makes a run towards communities including Mill Creek and Mineral. It is unknown if the truck equipped with the water tank was part of the firefighting efforts.
