Susanville Salvation Army Red Kettle Campaign nears one third of this year’s goal.
As December arrives, the non-profit’s seasonal fundraising campaign has collected 10,729 dollars of its 32,000 goal.
All monies raised help feed and clothe local children and families. The Salvation Army also builds Christmas dinner boxes for those in need and will help children receive a gift this holiday season through its Angel Tree program.
If you wish to volunteer to ring the bell for the cause, you can call the Susanville Salvation Army offices at 530-257-0314.
Holiday with a Hero is another program touching the lives of children in Lassen County.
Organizer Tera Avilla says the big event is nearing, and they could still use the community’s help to ensure children can experience the compassion of first responders. The event helps connect children who have experienced traumatic events where a negative stigma of first responders has been fostered to break down those walls.
The program has also taken on the additional hundreds of potential children who participated in the shuttered Lassen Toys for Tots Program.
Donations can be made by contacting Tera or reaching out through thier socials.
