At 5:33 a.m. there was an initial report of a structure fire spreading to vegetation in the area of Benet Road and Clipper Mills near La Porte, in the Plumas National Forest Protection Area.
Thanks to the response and shared effort by CAL FIRE/Butte County, CAL FIRE NEU, Foothill Fire, Brownsville CA and Plumas National Forest firefighters, the La Porte fire was less than a quarter acre. The fire was contained at 10 a.m. and controlled at 12:28 p.m. Only 1 dwelling and a couple outbuildings destroyed by the fire.
Thanks to the rapid response and coordinated effort, this fire was stopped before it could turn into a larger wildfire! We appreciate the teamwork this morning and success!
