If you have plans to get away with flights out of the Reno Tahoe International Airport, here are a few things to be aware of. From now through May 5th, the Nevada Air National Guard will be conducting readiness exercises. You will hear and notice various sirens, tones, and flying operations at the airport. Large C-130 aircraft, used to carry troops and cargo, will also have a heavy presence around the area.
Additionally, you must give yourself extra time heading to the airport as road construction begins, as the I-580 southbound airport off-ramp will be closed until 4 am on May 10th. Crews are resurfacing the roadway and completing bridge improvements. You will be re-routed through E. Plumb Lane. You can learn more by visiting the Nevada Department of Transportation website.
