A Hat Creek local takes home a million-dollar prize in last weekend’s rodeo competition in Texas.
32-year-old, RC Landingham of Hat creek, in a comeback to the sport following years of significant injuries, has ranked fifth in the world for bareback riding, according to the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association. This Saturday, Landingham competed in the Cowtown Coliseum in Fort Worth, Texas, and sealed the deal to become the first-ever victor of the ‘Triple Crown of Rodeo,’ along with the million-dollar bonus. This win makes him the third athlete to be successful in taking the Triple Crown of Rodeo, but the first to win the cash prize.
Landingham is next headed to the California Circuit Finals in Red Bluff over the New Year’s weekend.
