The former Bucks Lake Fire Department Chief has been charged with embezzlement. Plumas District Attorney Dave Hollister provided an update to Plumas News stating on March 17th, Jeffery Micheal Iverson had been charged with a felony for allegedly embezzling over 300,000 from the Bucks Lake Fire Department and the Volunteer Firefighters Inc.

Iverson appeared in court on March 3, pleaded not guilty, and waived his right to a speedy trial. His case is to continue into April 21. Hollister said they do not see Iverson appearing along with his attorney, for Iverson now resides in Florida.
