Your daily drive along State Route 147 is about to see some changes as the Caltrans District 2 and contractors kick off the Westwood Beach Culverts Project. This near $600,000 rehabilitation effort will address aging culverts at eight key locations near Canyon Dam, stretching from just south of Indian Hills Road to north of County Road A-13.
Here’s What to Expect:
- Starting Thursday, September 19th, crews will begin by lining culverts, which will require one-way traffic control between 6:30 p.m. and midnight. Expect delays of up to 15 minutes during this time.
- Next week, on Monday, Tuesday, and Friday, sampling work will take place with potential 30-minute delays between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m.
- Into October, After a brief pause, excavation operations are slated to resume by mid-month. you should prepare for additional delays as one-way traffic control continues for one to two weeks, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on weekdays.
Stay ahead of your trip delays by planning for the extra travel time and be mindful of the reduced speed limits and construction crews in the area. The project aims to wrap up by the end of October.
