A driver is facing felony DUI charges after a crash on State Route 70, just east of Overload Road, that left two juveniles injured.
According to the California Highway Patrol’s Quincy Area office, the crash happened on June 19th at about 4:32 in the afternoon. Officers responded to reports of a solo-vehicle crash involving a vehicle that had struck a tree.
The vehicle had three occupants — an adult male driver and two juveniles. During the investigation, CHP officers determined the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of DUI causing injury and child endangerment. Both juveniles were taken to Plumas District Hospital for treatment of injuries they suffered in the crash.
Officials are reminding drivers that impaired driving puts everyone on the road at risk. If you’ve been drinking, make a plan for a sober ride, or stay where you are. A single decision can make the difference between getting home safely and a tragedy.
