The Rural Community Assistance Corporation, along with Plumas County, invites the community to gather for a meeting Tuesday, Oct. 27, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Veterans Hall in Quincy, 274 Lawrence St. The collaborative convening will focus on the Recreation Economy for Rural Communities Community Action Plan 2.0.
The Quincy/East Quincy RERC initiative has been working to identify opportunities and actions that strengthen the local economy, support businesses and advance outdoor recreation and stewardship. At this convening, participants will reconnect around the RERC, share updates to the near-final RERC Community Action Plan 2.0 and hear community input on the work that has been developed and updated since the last community convening, said organizers.
Organizers said they are seeking community involvement in implementing the RERC Community Action Plan 2.0. The plan is organized around the original five goal areas:
- Recreation
- Tribal collaboration
- Downtown revitalization and beautification
- Business and economic development
- Workforce housing and lodging
The Rural Community Assistance Corporation invites business owners, community members, organizations and other local stakeholders to join one of the five goal groups that will help implement the actions forward.
“Your voice, experience and ideas can help shape what happens next,” said organizers. “Whether you’ve been involved with the RERC from the beginning or are just learning about the initiative, we want you at the table.”
Registration is available online. More information is available from Brianna Kay Swofford, community outreach coordinator, at 530-283-7070.
