The Central Plumas Recreation and Park District reports it is partnering with local agencies, including the Feather River College ecosystem restoration and applied fire management program, on a long-term maintenance recovery plan for the bike park at 129 Kelsey Lane.

As part of this effort, officials are planning a prescribed burn operation in the coming months to help manage overgrown vegetation and restore the park’s footprint. The operation will only proceed if weather and safety conditions are aligned, said organizers.

In the next step, district staff will conduct preoperation site assessments alongside FRC program leaders, Quincy Volunteer Fire Department personnel and California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection officials.

As planning finalizes, the district will release the exact operation date and further details to the public.
