CDCR has been alerted to a scam email/website falsely claiming to be from our department and using our logo. The email offers a $500 grant and asks for personal identifying information, including Social Security numbers.
This is a scam-Do not respond or provide any personal information.
While CDCR does offer legitimate grant opportunities, we never request sensitive information, via email or through third-party websites. Official CDCR communications always come from an @cdcr.ca.gov email address.
