Buckle Up or Face the Consequences: CHP’s ‘Click It or Ticket’ Campaign Kicks Off

Click it or Ticket,  the CA Highway Patrol begins its campaign to crack down on making sure you are buckled up properly on the roadways.

Starting Monday, the 2-week campaign will last through June 2nd.

Buckle up every time, every trip. Wearing a seatbelt saves lives and prevents tickets.

National statistics show that by wearing your seatbelt, you significantly reduce the risk of death and severe injuries in a collision.

In 2022, nearly half of all passenger vehicle fatalities involved unrestrained drivers and passengers.
Additionally, more than 75% of those ejected in fatal crashes die, whereas only 1% of seat belt users are ejected, underscoring the importance of buckling up.

The “Click It or Ticket” campaign in California began in 2005 and has increased seat belt usage to over 95% in the state through both education and enforcement.
