Fire crews from the Bureau of Land Management will be conducting pile
burning projects in the Horse Lake area southwest of Ravendale beginning Monday, Feb. 10, and
continuing through the week as conditions allow. Burning will take place only when weather and fuel
conditions allow for safe and successful burning.
The project site covers over 330 acres. The slash piles were created during projects to reduce
hazardous fuels, improving landscape health and reducing chances of catastrophic wildfires. A burn
plan is in place specifying allowable fuel and weather conditions and required personnel and
equipment.
More information is available from the BLM Eagle Lake Field Office, 530-257-0456.
