The Plumas Forest Service has closed Antelope Lake road while culverts are installed. The closure is in place from the gate at the western end, east towards the intersection with the Forest Road at Boulder Creek Dam near Antelope Lake.
More than 100 culverts will be placed along 10 miles of the road to improve drainage, and crews will also repave the road during the closure.
Work began in October to begin repairs of damage caused by the Walker Fire. Work will be prolonged for the long-term project, which is expected to last another year and a half.
This March, an updated schedule for partially reopening Antelope Lake road and available summer detours will be available.
