Your week’s reminder: an active shooter preparedness drill will be taking place at Quincy Jr. Senior High School this Wednesday, November 1st, as announced by Plumas Public Health.
The school campus will be closed to the community and students during the exercise. Only those who have volunteered to participate are allowed in the area.
There will be an increased presence of emergency personnel as this will be a full-scale exercise. There will be emergency vehicles, including those from the sheriff’s department, ambulance service, and fire departments, as well as a helicopter.
This exercise is part of an ongoing commitment to enhancing cooperative readiness and response capabilities in the face of potential threats.
The purpose of this drill is to verify the ability of these agencies, school personnel, and community partners to execute the established active shooter response plan effectively.
If you have any questions or require additional information about the exercise, you can reach out to Plumas Public Health at 530-283-6337.
The exercise will begin the morning of the 1st and conclude late that afternoon around 4 pm, according to Superintendent of School Bill Roderick.
