This Wednesday, the Susanville City Council will appoint members to the promised Sales Tax Oversight Board.
When voters approved the one percent increase in the City’s sales tax during the June primary, an advisory committee was part of the deal. As of October 1st, that new sales tax has gone into effect, with the City beginning to see revenue by early next year.
Five people living within the city limits will be appointed to the advisory board, each recommended by one council member. The committee will be in charge of reviewing how funds collected from the tax will be spent. Those appointed can serve up to three two-year terms.
The council meets Wednesday, October 19th at 4:30, opening in a closed session. Mayor McCourt will attend virtually while in Newport Beach.
