The Susanville City Council will finalize the results of the June 2 municipal election during a special meeting Wednesday, July 1, at 4:00 p.m., clearing the way for one new councilmember and one returning incumbent.
Under the certified election results, Gerry Hibbitts will join the council, replacing Russ Brown, whose term comes to an end after four years of service. Mendy Schuster was also re-elected and will return to the council for another term.
During the meeting, council members are expected to accept the official canvass of votes from the Lassen County Clerk and adopt Resolution No. 26-6555, formally declaring the results of the June 2 General Municipal Election.
While largely procedural, the action officially completes the city’s election process and confirms the transition to the newly elected council lineup.
The special meeting will be held at Susanville City Hall and is open to the public.
