Supportive housing, specifically the county’s proposed and controversial North Mesa street project, will be brought to a discussion at the Susanville city council meeting Wednesday. Mayor McCourt brought the topic to next week’s agenda as there remains confusion over the project and the city’s involvement, which he says is minimal if any. Yet, since the location is in the city’s heart on county-owned property, the council wished to address community concerns within the walls of city hall. This will give the community a voice and allow the city to communicate those concerns and desires to the county. McCourt says this can open an opportunity to collaborate and work on a solution. The council meets Wednesday, March 1st, in open session at 5 o’clock in City Hall. A full agenda can be found on the city’s website.
