Funding from the California Transportation Commission will bring Crescent Mills some much-needed rehabilitation. When the Dixie Fire raged through, it wiped out much of the area and devastated the lands. During an August meeting, the CTC allocated an additional 2.2 billion dollars to help repair and improve transportation infrastructure throughout the state. Plumas County was awarded a piece of those funds for the crescent mills project. From Indian Falls Road to south of Hot springs road and from mill street to north of mills street, the roadways pavement will be rehabilitated, guard rails updated, and signage improved. Drainage systems will also get installed along with the construction of a vehicle pullout. Other area projects included with these funds are in Modoc County, to improve drainage by repairing or replacing culverts to reduce and prevent flooding, as well as near Burney to pave roadways, upgrade guardrails, and reconstruct sidewalks that are ADA compliant.
