Principal Superintendant of Lassen High Morgan Nugent responds to yesterday’s early morning bus fire. Saying thanks to the quick actions of the experienced driver being able to pull off into the break check area to avoid further incidents helped protect himself and the community. The bus was on route to pick up high school students from the Lake Forest area. The damage to the bus will have to be assessed, yet the loss will not affect the high school bus schedule as Nugent says the school had a few reserved buses from recent purchases to grow the school’s fleet. Nugent also adds that this Friday from 11 to 2 the High school will be trying to fill the last remaining vacancies with an on-the-spot interview event. The school is looking to fill positions for bus drivers, lunch staff, and paraprofessionals.
