Lassen Community College’s gunsmithing program is undergoing a revitalization process. Faculty has voted to improve the program by updating curriculum, equipment, and classroom conditions. During the process the program will remain open to students and instructors will continue to teach. Trevor Albertson, the community college’s Superintendent and President said this process will also improve the programs reputation, a further win for program alumni. The gunsmithing program review is not unique in that all college programs are under constant review as part of the instructional review process and provides continuous improvement and demonstrates responsible use of taxpayers’ dollars. Faculty and the programs instructors are to determine what improvements are to come and are currently under development.
