The Lassen County Fair has selected a longtime community servant and centenarian as its 2026 Grand Marshal.
Alice Dresel has been named this year’s Grand Marshal in recognition of more than 75 years of service, generosity, and dedication to the Lassen County community.
Fair officials say Dresel’s impact has been felt through decades of volunteer work, including her lifelong involvement with Beta Sigma Phi, where she helped raise funds for families in need, supported local youth and education programs, and contributed countless hours to community efforts.
Her service has extended beyond volunteer organizations. Dresel has served on the Lassen County Grand Jury and the Local Agency Formation Commission (LAFCO), worked as an art teacher, and later served as an engineering aide for the City of Susanville.
The honor comes as Dresel recently celebrated her 100th birthday. Those who nominated her for Grand Marshal recognition highlighted not only her accomplishments but also her compassion, leadership, and the lasting relationships she has built with generations of Lassen County residents.
Fair organizers describe Dresel’s life as a reflection of resilience, kindness, and a commitment to making the community stronger through service.
Dresel will be honored during the Lassen County Fair Parade on Saturday, July 18, where she will serve as Grand Marshal.
Community members are invited to join the celebration and recognize Dresel’s century of life dedicated to helping others and strengthening the Lassen County community.
