If you’re looking to celebrate Independence Day with fireworks close to home, there are several professional displays planned around the region.

Susanville – July 3
The festivities get an early start in Lassen County with the July 3rd & 4th Celebration at the Lassen County Fairgrounds. The free event begins at 3 p.m. Thursday, July 3, featuring vendors, food, games, races, and family activities before a fireworks show lights up the sky after the evening races. The celebration continues July 4 with additional activities.

Lake Almanor (Chester) – July 4
One of the area’s most popular displays returns to Lake Almanor on Friday, July 4. Fireworks are scheduled to launch from the Peninsula at approximately 9 p.m., following a full day of Independence Day festivities in Chester, including the parade, craft fair, fun run, and community events.

Graeagle – July 4
The annual Graeagle Independence Day Celebration concludes with fireworks over the Mill Pond at dusk on July 4. Live music begins at 6 p.m., and the community celebration includes vendors, family activities, and historical reenactments throughout the day.

Loyalton – July 4
While there won’t be a fireworks display in Loyalton this year, the community will celebrate with its traditional Fourth of July parade beginning at 10 a.m., along with family activities throughout the day.

Leave the Fireworks to the Pros

Fire officials are reminding residents that all fireworks—including “Safe and Sane” fireworks—are prohibited throughout Plumas County and Sierra County. The ban includes sparklers and other fireworks bearing the California State Fire Marshal’s seal. Only permitted public displays are allowed.

In Lassen County, “Safe and Sane” fireworks may only be used within the Susanville city limits. They are illegal everywhere else in the county and are prohibited on all public lands.

With wildfire danger increasing across Northern California, officials encourage everyone to enjoy one of the region’s professional fireworks displays and help prevent human-caused wildfires.
