California Secretary of State Announces Certified Candidate List and Key Dates for 2026 Primary Election

Pursuant to state law, California Secretary of State Shirley N. Weber, Ph.D., has notified each candidate for partisan and voter-nominated offices of the list of candidates she is scheduled to certify to county elections officials on March 26, 2026. The notice includes a list of each federal and state office, as well as the names, addresses, occupations, and party preferences, if applicable, of all candidates qualified to appear on the June 2, 2026, State Primary Election ballot.

The Secretary has also posted the party preference history of each candidate for voter-nominated offices for the preceding 10 years, as required by law. The list can be found at elections.cdn.sos.ca.gov/statewide-elections/2026-primary/pph.pdf.

Prior to certification of the list of candidates on March 26, 2026, candidates may seek a writ in the Sacramento County Superior Court to amend the information contained on the list.
