Ditch Camp Prescribed Burn Project

Starting on Wednesday, September 17 -20, Cal Fire Lassen-Modoc Unit will be conducting a 400 acre prescribed burn located 5 miles South of Bieber off County Rd A-2, in the Big Valley Area of Northern Lassen County.  This type of burning has been a multi year ongoing project withing the project area threatening different portions of the based on the identified management needs.  The burn will be initiated if/when conditions are favorable for a low intensity prescribed burn.  Smoke will be visible in the area of Ditch Camp Reservoir and County Road A-2, there is not need to report  to 911.  The purpose of the project is to improve wildlife habitat, reduce noxious wees, and reduce vegetation along County Road A-2 to prevent the possibility of fire burning and threatening the surrounding residents and ranches in the area.
