Starting on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, the CAL FIRE LassenModoc Unit will be assisting Standish-Litchfield Fire Department and a private landowner with a 3-acre prescribed burn in the area of Center Road and Cut-off Road in Litchfield.
The burn will be conducted only when weather and fuel conditions are favorable, ensuring a controlled and manageable prescribed fire. Smoke may be visible in the Standish Litchfield area. Residents are reminded not to report smoke to 911 unless there is an actual emergency. The burn will take approximately 1 hour to complete.
Project Objectives:
Reduce the presence of noxious weeds Manage and reduce excess vegetation along Center Road and Cut-off Road
Minimize the risk of wildfire ignition and spread to nearby communities and ranchlands
