A popular access road in Sierra County will have a delayed opening due to this hears historical snow. Deputy Transportation Director Bryan Davey shared with the Sierra County Board of Supervisors that the community has been pressuring the department to open the Gold Lake Road, but Davey says it’s not likely to happen on time. The road currently sits under 12 feet of snow in some locations on the Plumas County side. Davey alerted to the Sierra county board of Supervisors that opening the Gold Lake Rd won’t happen until mid-June. Trailheads have also been moved to Windy Point for the Over Snow Vehicle program.
