The California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) is asking residents to share their experiences with internet service through a new Broadband Public Feedback Survey designed to improve the accuracy of the state’s broadband maps.
The survey allows Californians to report the quality of internet service available at their homes and businesses, including issues such as slow connection speeds, unreliable service, limited provider options, or concerns about affordability.
The effort comes after years of investment in expanding broadband infrastructure across the state. While many rural communities have seen improvements, some areas continue to experience gaps in service or internet performance that differs from what is reflected on official broadband maps.
According to the CPUC, feedback collected through the survey will help identify areas that need improved broadband access and ensure the state’s mapping more accurately reflects real-world service availability, reliability, speed, and affordability.
The survey takes only a few minutes to complete and is available through the California Interactive Broadband Map.
