CDFW Hosts Annual Salmon Information Meeting

Calling all salmon fishing enthusiasts: The California Department of Fish and Wildlife (CDFW) is hosting its annual Salmon Information Meeting on March 1, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

The meeting, which will be held in webinar form, will provide an outlook on this year’s sport and commercial ocean salmon fisheries, along with a review of last year’s salmon fisheries and spawning escapement. Following the presentations, you are encouraged to provide testimony and recommendations for this year’s fishing season regulations ahead of the Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) meetings in March and April. The Salmon Information Meeting starts a two-month public process to develop annual sport and commercial ocean salmon fishing regulations. Your input is crucial in helping California representatives create season recommendations that will be adopted by the Pacific Fishery Management Council (PFMC) in April.

For more information on the meeting and how to attend, visit CDFW’s Ocean Salmon webpage.
