Principals and teachers, your students, can help name the new Caltrans cone mascot and win your school a laptop and up to 1,000 dollars in gift cards. Caltrans launched the campaign this winter break and will take suggestions for the cone mascot from children between the ages of 5 and 18. You will have until January 20th to submit your catchy name.
If your name gets selected, you get, in addition to the laptop, a 500-dollar GC, another 500-dollar GC for your classroom, Go Safely mascot T-shirts for your entire classroom, and a visit from the mascot to your class. Caltrans selected the traffic cone as its new mascot because traffic cones you see along roadways have helped protect highway workers for over 80 years and play a huge role in acting as indicators for drivers to slow down, be extra alert, watch out, and move over!
