Caltrans is continuing work on the VP2 Road Rehabilitation Project on State Route (SR) 99 in and near Los Molinos, from the Butte County line to the Los Molinos Creek Bridge.
Beginning this week, crews will perform overnight pavement dig out operations Sunday through Thursday. Work will occur at two active locations each night, with work zones shifting nightly as construction progresses through the project limits.
Motorists should expect up to 15-minute delays at each active work location, with combined delays of up to 30 minutes when traveling through the entire project limits. Overnight dig out operations are anticipated to continue for approximately two weeks.
In addition, a 2- to 3-mile lane shift is now in place within the project limits. While the lane shift is not expected to cause delays, motorists are encouraged to remain alert, follow all posted signs, and use caution when traveling through the work zone.
The speed limit throughout the construction zone has been reduced to 45 mph, and the California Highway Patrol will be on site conducting speed enforcement to help protect both motorists and highway workers.
Motorists are reminded to slow down, eliminate distractions, and be prepared for changing traffic patterns while traveling through the project area.
