“California politicians were only able to defeat Prop 39 for Voter ID by rigging the ballot title, spending $50 million on dishonest ads and riding a national tidal wave against Republicans,” said Assemblymember Carol DeMaio.
“When you remove the toxic partisan environment that hampered Prop 39, the reality is California voters support common-sense Voter ID requirements.
“Despite Prop 39 falling short this cycle, we fully intend to continue the fight to make Voter ID the law of the state of California because we absolutely must improve trust and confidence in our democracy.”
