Wildfire Near Hoke Valley Contained at 2 Acres
Eastern Sierra County, CA — On Sunday, May 11, fire crews from the U.S. Forest Service, CAL FIRE, and Truckee Fire responded to a vegetation fire near Hoke Valley, just east of Stampede Reservoir in eastern Sierra County.
Thanks to the rapid and coordinated response, forward progress of the fire was quickly stopped, and the fire was held to approximately 2 acres. Crews have begun mop-up operations and will remain on scene to ensure full containment.
The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
