Tuesday, July 2, 2024, a quick response from CAL FIRE, the US Forest Service (USFS), and the Little Valley Fire Department (LVFD) successfully contained a vegetation fire in northwestern Lassen County. The fire, which ignited in a forested area south of Little Valley, was detected through the Alert California Camera system.
Firefighters were able to halt the blaze at just over one acre. Crews will continue working through the night to ensure the area is fully mopped up and secured. Thanks to the swift action of these dedicated teams, the fire’s spread was minimal, preventing potential damage to the surrounding forest and nearby communities.
